NOTE: A lot of people in the comments really seem to not UNDERSTAND how the software is supposed to work. So, I decided to reach out to ASUS and this is their response:
According to ASUS:
“GameFirst is an ultimate tool for players, designed for ASUS ROG motherboard for network optimization and acceleration. It can effectively reduce the network delay. The phenomenon such as lag won’t appear in the game. It also creates the best network environment for players.”
And by the looks of the UI, GameFirst is a network manager. So, does it really manage the network? Does it really remove lag?
Join us as we push the program to its limits and see if it is still as effective as it was advertised.

I love how you're downloading in the background and expect the program to magically increase your overall internet speed? smh
Interesting Video. Did you ever figure the issue why it not seem to work properly? I am now using the GameFirst V and it is a pain to deal will to be honest. I was having the same problem and later discovered I did not have it activated even though it looks like I did. Now, all I can seem to do is sacrifice one part for another when it comes to the network. Sacrifice the internet for the game, or game for internet or even internet for file transfer etc. This drives me nuts. Manually activate the part I want to use since auto or smart seems to do very little if any.
Hi. It's been 2 years how was with now?
I SAW STEAM! You needed to inclued steam…
I was going nuts trying to find what was wrong with my brand new laptop. This crap, the Game first V was slowing my wi-fi and wired internet close to nothing!!!
So this comment is a little late but it seems most people don't understand what this program is actually supposed to do. It allows you to mix 2 or more networks together and then priorities which network applications should use. So if you have a fast 100 mbps connection you would want your games to run on that while a second connection, A mobile hotspot that is 10 mbps, for example, could be used for you browser and downloading other things in the background.
Hence, better connection and speed for games while downloading or streaming.
Don't use this crap it will slow your wifi speed to almost stop.
You actually need to connect to a second network for it to work. Just connecting to one, it can't do anything, it needs a least two to switch programs between them.
The Gamefirst V on my BRAND NEW Asus 703 won't even open… occasionally it will ask for permission, which I always allow, but it never opens.. occasionally I get a blue pinwheel like it's going to open – but it never does
Had the laptop 2 days from factory new.. gtx1070, Intel i8750H, massive ssd, 144hz, RAM coming out of every hole, the whole lot – can't even open the packaged freeware 🙁
😂😂😂 it's meant for you to use lan and wireless to optimize your speed. I can't believe nobody has told you that yett. So now you got some more content 😂 your welcome
Probably too late to say this, but i'm highly dissapointed in asus.. they make somewhat decent GPU's/Mobo's etc, but their software/firmwares/bioses are rather.. meh. Google is stuffed with complaints.. either it is really that difficult to make it work properly, or they just don't care.
You know what could had been useful?, text just game ping with and without it and forget about the downloading, you are never suppose to download anything while playing a game.
who can I download it?
Even if you can set priority for each application (and that helps a lot) you can't hope to download/upload files while you play using the same connection and still keep the ping low. If you have just one connection and don't want higher pings you should just stop the download and play.
GameFirst's main objective is to let you manage your connections so you can: stream your gameplay, upload/download files, etc. with your WIFI connection while you play games with the Ethernet connection, keeping your games ping low… (PLEASE, don't joke around and try to use the same router's wifi/ethernet, that won't work… seriously… don't…)
Just do as I do… Use your neighbor wifi to download/stream while you play with your ethernet! =D That's magic dude!!
yeah i've just bought an asus b350-f strix for my ryzen build and i installed gamefirst. It literally does nothing… i dont even know why it exists as a program. There is no way you can play any game while downloading on steam and there are lagspikes even when you watch videos on really high res on youtube while gaming
its not meant to get low ping while downloading something.
It ONLY works when you have MULTIPLE internet connections. It manages what software uses which connection. Separating the ones that's downloading and the game between your connections. Do your research before bitching. A simple google would of saved you from recording and uploading this stupid video.
I'm pinning here my latest response to 楊尚真's inquiry. Just for additional info to anyone doing research.
I installed v1.5.31. Strange, as I only found it in the ROG Maximus VIII driver page but it did work on my Z170I pro-gaming motherboard.
I tested it again using the same conditions as the video above. It still did not work. Though I think Gamefirst is not showing the "right" Chrome "instance" or "process" which in turn prevents me from lowering its priority or its bandwidth allocation. Force restricting all network access of Chrome does work though.
I also tested using WoT and Steam downloads. There, it works with only a minor penalty to ping (10ms) but the download rate of steam is lowered by more than 50% (and it also seems to stop on its own). I did this using prioritization (Steam – lowest, WoT – Highest).
Is it asus motherboard model independently ?
I'm using rog maximus vi hero
Have you tried the latest version of GameFirst IV?
